Dum Cat!
Ignore the date on this pic, couldn't figure out how to change it.He really can be dum. He got himself stuck in a shopping bag the other day - completely tangled one handle around his waist and the other around his arm. He was running around the house with that red bag stuck on himself, trying to rub it off and drag it off. Was very entertaining and funny - got a good laff. We purposely left him that way for a while!
Few days til christmas and still not ready, haven't started shopping. Oh well, do this every year and things somehow get done.

Saga/Drama continues...Never a dull moment.
The other night got a phone call from an excited son. Said he hit a curb, dented the wheel, got scared and changed the tire cuz he didn't want to have a flat on the way home. Of course, not being a man and all, I didn't think to check if he changed the tire ok. Was on our way in today and the car was making a loud thumping noise and I'm thinking - this is just great - had that ole beaten down feeling - like another major car repair here!! So, I called the front end brake guy and he said to bring it in and he'd road test it to give me an idea on the problem. He got back from driving it around the block, went to the back of his shop and came out with a big wheel lug tightener and tightened the lugs. Was driving around with a loose tire! Lucky nothing major happened. After that episode, came home got the daughter and off we went to work and college. She needed my car at lunch to run an errand. Work was hectic in more ways than one. I was 'manning' the office alone, trying to meet deadlines, dealing with a busy boss, busy students, and busy profs. Phone rang and it was "E", saying she locked the keys in the car - both sets! If you're going to have a crappy day, might as well do it up right. She solved her own dilemma though, I was mighty proud of her and it didn't cost me a thing.
It was just that kind of day. Thankful all our dilemma's turned out to be nothing major and nothing expensive. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, there I was sleeping soundly, all by myself in my big comfy bed and thought I felt someone next to me sit up straight leaving cold air in their wake and on my back. Must've been my deep sleep conscious alerting me that it was dam cold in my house. Got up to check my son, make sure he was ok and still breathing, I could barely see him under his pile of blankets - but I put a sleeping bag on him anaway so he'd stay warm.
Ran outta propane @ 2:00 a.m. Monday morn. Called the emergency propane number and was told "it'll cost you $105.00! for a fill at this hour". So figured I'd wait. Forced myself to go back to sleep until about 7:40 when phone started ringing....my daaad calling to see if we were ok cuz he knew this might happen. So, I got up and waited until 8:00 a.m. on the dot to call the gas company, lady tried to get bitchy w/me after I told her I wanted this delivered ASAP. "We'll have to charge you an extra $45.00 for same day delivery" she said. I lost it with her and told her that was bullshit and blah-blah-blah, she got a good Monday morning ass chewing!!
Finally had heat by 10:00 a.m. and felt better, felt like baking, washing/drying clothes, turning my heat up to 80, taking hot shower, etc. Just felt like burning gas! Even the cat knew something was up - when the house was cold. He kept looking at me like - aren't you going to do something here? Like I didn't feel guilty enough for letting that happen.
Oh well we survived, just another episode of single mom, super mom, working mom, mom as dad, etc. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger - - - RIGHT? Yeah - we survived it piece-a-cake.

Turkey Day......

Had a very nice Thanksgiving, a lot of food and good company. Ate waaay too much, probably gained a few more #'s.
This pic was taken last summer of some of the family kids, not all are here. Had a nice time today and missed the family that couldn't be here. I'm sure we ate enough for everyone and then some.
Relaxing now, letting the food settle.

Like I said

A pic of my baby singing on a drum from last weekend. This pic was posted on a website.
Got his report card too, he's doing good. Plus, he had a touch of Buck Fever this past weekend when he went hunting with grampa. Called me said they saw a big buck, they thought was a moose so he stalked it for a while but didn't get a shot at it. Oh well, maybe next time.

Muh Glir....and her Man

What the heck, here's a pic of my other baby and her man. Call her Muh Glir, or (just Bee-u-tee) cuz when she was a little girl about 2, I'd ask her - "what are you a boy or a girl" - she'd say proudly and loudly "I'm a Gliiir". Today, she's on her way to a drum ceremony with a friend and other college classmates. TTFN as Tigger would say.
Sat-ur-day...Muh Baby or I just call him...

Doodle, Doodie, Big Guy, Muh Baby, Dude Man, or just Dude. Grandpa calls him Muh Main Man! This is a picture of him parching rice I harvested with my other baby Muh Glir.
Since I got high speed internet, I've enjoyed being on the computer more. Almost too much - it's so easy to sit by the computer while sipping on coffee, tea, or something more stimulating and thought provoking like a good glass of vino, or shingabaaboo.
But life outside cyberspace is calling today......my good niijikwe wants me to accompany her to a "hunters ball" north of here somewhere I've never been. That sounds a little scary to this ole shinaab, so I think I'll opt to go and listen to the beat of the drum, while being mesmerized by the dancers in all their finery. Besides, muh baby (he's 17 by the way) is singing on one of the drums.
Have a good day!
