Saga/Drama continues...Never a dull moment.
The other night got a phone call from an excited son. Said he hit a curb, dented the wheel, got scared and changed the tire cuz he didn't want to have a flat on the way home. Of course, not being a man and all, I didn't think to check if he changed the tire ok. Was on our way in today and the car was making a loud thumping noise and I'm thinking - this is just great - had that ole beaten down feeling - like another major car repair here!! So, I called the front end brake guy and he said to bring it in and he'd road test it to give me an idea on the problem. He got back from driving it around the block, went to the back of his shop and came out with a big wheel lug tightener and tightened the lugs. Was driving around with a loose tire! Lucky nothing major happened. After that episode, came home got the daughter and off we went to work and college. She needed my car at lunch to run an errand. Work was hectic in more ways than one. I was 'manning' the office alone, trying to meet deadlines, dealing with a busy boss, busy students, and busy profs. Phone rang and it was "E", saying she locked the keys in the car - both sets! If you're going to have a crappy day, might as well do it up right. She solved her own dilemma though, I was mighty proud of her and it didn't cost me a thing.
It was just that kind of day. Thankful all our dilemma's turned out to be nothing major and nothing expensive. Just keeping my fingers crossed.
