Back to Bloggin....

I'm back, not that anyone really missed me or anything. Still dealing with the sinus crap and cold crud, and side effects of the antibiotic. I won't go into detail with visuals or anything. A lot of sick people around, reminds me of that Stephen King novel "The Stand". Oh well, spring is just around the corner hopefully.

Well, Olympics are over now what? Back to watching American Idol I suppose.

Tried to go out a few times over the weekend, had a good time overall. Had some guy hanging around me one night, breathing his sour breath in my direction, talking and spitting at the same time - very attractive. Of course, the only kind of guys that ever have the nerve. My sister came to the conclusion for me that I'm looking for the perfect man, good looking, educated, preferably no little kids - (or at least doesn't have kids scattered all over the place) has money and nice personality. I've come to the conclusion - this person does not exist - or as someone else said I want the non-existent man. Maybe that's true for now.

Until next time........chow or is it ciao!!

It Is Friday finally..!!

Yeaay - it's finally friday. Damn weather isn't cooperating as usual, soon as the weekend hits so does the crappy weather. I made plans to take my son to his grandpa's house for the weekend - hopefully this snow will taper off by this afternoon. It's pouring snow out there at the moment - just what I LOVE. (Try to use reverse psychology on the weather, maybe it'll clear up). ha ha.

Heard that our local curlers took the bronze medal at the Olympics! Congratulations.

Finally worked out last night, surprised myself that I could still go at the same pace as last week before I got really sick. Think I need to turn it up a notch as I hardly worked up a sweat. When I first started exercising back in August, I could barely do a mile on the treadmill without sweating profusely. So, it's nice to know I've made some progress anyway.

I'll admit, this entry is pretty boring. So what else is new, story of my life lately. Not too much happening, might have to create some "drama" to liven things up a little. I know some people will think and say to themselves "oh no".

But, I'm JUST KIDDING. I'm really pretty mellow these days, must be the aging process slowing me down or something. I think I'll just sit back and watch everyone else be foolish from now on.

Friday yet??

Well, went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. Ick! Still not feeling quite up to par. Still waiting for the antibiotics to kick in.

Kind of disappointed that our local curlers lost their bid for the gold - oh well they put this little town back on the map anyway. Especially one of our local pizza joints - Dave's Pizza owned by the skip of the team. Better luck next time.

What about those powerball winners - glad to see it was regular blue-collar workers that won! I didn't bother or waste my time and money buying a ticket. It's pretty rare that we (way up here in the North Country) would win anyway.

Now I'm hungry for a Dave's Pizza. Food, food, food - that's what it's all about.

Bloggin Again.....

Well, I was told by one of my regular readers to post on my blog! Glad someone's getting some enjoyment out of my blog.

Just been dealing with a nasty cold and all the nice-ities that go with it like chapped nose, sore throat, red-itchy eyes, getting coughing spells at the most inopportune times - and of course my voice sounds like it's changing. So, when I answer the phone at home people think it's my son.

Still kind of chilly out there today, but at least it's now above zero! Last week was a regular deep freeze around here. Had to sleep in my long sleeved flannels, including the bottoms and even throw another blanket on.

This is a picture of a black sand beach on the big island of Hawaii. My daughter took this picture when she was there in January during a semester/study break. She went through Hawaii withdrawls (big time) when she got back. She immediately wanted to transfer to the University of Hilo, Hawaii. But, with the help of her loving family and boyfriend she's now fully recovered, but still has thoughts of moving there someday.

Time to BLOG (pajog)

Ha ha ha I have to laff at myself sometimes!! If you can't have a little humor about yourself, then I just don't know what to say. Well, here it is almost the end of the day for another Monday and tomorrow is valentine's day. Just another day for me, no romance, no chocolates, no flowers, just another day. Not like it's really ever been a big deal anyway, I can only think of 2 memorable valentine's days in my entire adult relationshiped life. One with my ex-husband (in 13 years of marriage) and one with an ex-boyfriend (in 8 years of being together). Pretty sad uh?

Over the weekend I got to go out a couple of times (with my dad). Had a good time, always do with him. Even if we just sit there quietly watching people and enjoy the live music. Played some pool, met a few interesting people, danced a little, saw some acquaintances and talked for a while. All pretty mellow.

Remember - Valentine's day tomorrow all you love birds. Count me out.

Cellphones - what a ripoff!!

I need to vent and scream at the cell phone industry (if you can call it that). If I had the money, I'd buy stock in the cell phone business. I'd be rich in no time!! What a rip off, how can this industry even be legal??

If your phone quits working and you don't have insurance on it, you either buy out your current contract and buy a phone at full cost - of course they're all over $100.00, or you have to sign a 2 year contract and get the reduced cost of a phone. If your phone quits working, you have to pay a "replacement" charge of a new phone, which is more than the no contract cost. Imagine how much money these cell phone company's are making. It's crazy!! They rip you off no matter which way you turn.

Monday...from the lake

Well, here I am at the lake again, blogging from the sister's place, which happens to be next door to the parents house. Every time I visit, it's harder to jump in the car and head back home. It is sooooo nice here, a haven for anyone that loves the outdoors and nature. I always envy everyone that lives up here by the lake. Maybe someday I'll move back home and erect a small structure on my own lake lot.

There we were having our morning coffee, visiting, and a wolf goes running across the bay. Probably explains the tracks in the yard.

Had a Dawson's Creek marathon this past weekend, watched it from the first episode all the way through to the 3rd season have 2 more season's to go. Had a good breakfast, good coffee and now going to watch another episode!

Brokeback Mountain...

Here's my opinion, summary, whatever on this movie. Not really knowing what to expect, it was a little weird at first. But as the movie progressed, it was very good. The acting is awesome, so is the scenery! Definitely worth seeing, even if you're a guy - put those homophobic feelings aside, open up your mind and either enjoy and appreciate it or go just for an interesting perspective on this type of love story. If one of these actors doesn't win an academy award I would be very surprised and disappointed. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal - what a gamble they took with their careers in portraying these characters. Hasn't changed my opinion of them at all, they're both still very masculine, beautiful men. This movie is definitely legendary.

Wednesday - - Hump Day (for some).

Good afternoon. Like I said hump day today - - I guess I'll celebrate by going to see "Brokeback Mountain" with my daughter and her friend. For some reason, I couldn't talk my son into going. I was beginning to think this small town wasn't ready for this movie, maybe there was enough public interest or demand. I'll give you a rundown tomorrow on my thoughts about the movie.

Now that it's Wednesday, the week seems to be flying by. This is about the time I start to think about weekend plans, I should just stay home and clean and organize. Maybe take my Christmas tree down! For the heck of it, maybe I'll leave it up and take it down before the family hits my house for Easter.

Have a good rest of the day.
